C-PROFILE (Module):

The system can be broken into individual units of 2400mm x 3000mm (or customised). Each unit consists of two parallel lengths of 41 x 41 x 1.5mm UNISTRUT (‘light’) - sold separately - and your allocated baffles. Channel lengths can be customised or joined for longer runs, baffle spacing can easily be adjusted to meet your projects acoustic and aesthetic demands.

U-PROFILE (Solo):

The system enables effortless suspension of individual baffles using our easy-install U-Profile mounts and cable kits. It's ideal for challenging installations, retrofits, or where truly custom ceiling designs are needed.

APPLICATION:

Suspended acoustic baffles for schools, fitness centres, gymnasiums, restaurants and bars providing unrivalled noise control. Light-weight and visually appealing for all high activity noisy environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
About Acoustic Baffles

  • A: As a general rule for commercial spaces (offices, restaurants, and schools), we recommend covering 30% to 50% of the ceiling surface area to effectively reduce Reverberation Time (RT60). However, because GB Acoustics PetFelt baffles hang vertically and have unframed exposed edges, they offer nearly double the absorptive surface area of flat wall panels. This often means you can achieve your desired acoustic result with fewer units than traditional glued solutions.

  • A: Safety is our priority. Our PetFelt material is tested to EN13501-1 Class B-s1/2,d0. This makes them suitable for use in the majority of commercial, educational, and public environments where fire safety compliance is mandatory.

  • A: In high-ceiling environments, often yes. Vertical baffles interrupt sound waves that travel horizontally across the room (the noise that travels from one end of an office to the other). By exposing both the front and back faces, as well as the bottom edge, our baffles capture sound energy from all directions—direct noise from below and reflected noise from the ceiling void.

  • A: Our baffles are designed for rapid installation and retrofitting. Each baffle is extremely lightweight and comes with a largely tool-free adjustable cable suspension kit or in Module form ready for direct mounting to either UNISTRUT Channel or our proprietary V-Profile.

They can be hung directly from concrete soffits, plasterboard, or clipped onto existing suspended ceiling grids (T-Grid). This makes them an ideal solution for historic buildings or rented offices where minimizing damage to the building fabric is essential.

  • A: Yes. We offer four addional profiles to suit different architectural styles: Range (linear), Curves A & B (undulating waves), and Gridwork (cross-hatch lattice). Utilising our extensive CNC technology, we can also cut bespoke shapes or varied lengths to match your specific branding or ceiling plan.

  • A: Superior performance and longevity. PetFelt is significantly denser than traditional acoustic foam, offering better sound absorption at the same thickness, particularly for speech frequencies. Unlike foam, which can crumble, discolor, and degrade over time, PetFelt is impact-resistant, rigid, and color-fast. It is also the sustainable choice; made from 75% recycled post-consumer plastic bottles, it contains no chemical binders and is fully recyclable.
